The Defense Systems Group at PTR (PTR-DSG) creates control and communications solutions for military and industrial customers. Our range of capabilities start with
software and firmware design, include
microprocessor based circuit designs all the way through distributed rack-mounted
systems solutions. Existing customers include the US Navy, US Air Force, Northrop Grumman, L3, Boeing and Crane Aerospace.
Software and firmware capabilities include Windows, Unix and Linux-based human interface applications and real-time embedded algorithms in firmware. PTR-DSG specializes in the customization of real-time operating systems and embedded Linux to perform deadline-driven control tasks. We offer the expertise to modify kernel-resident code, to author board support packages, and to code drivers and libraries in support of embedded applications that meet strict deadline and real-time scheduling requirements.
Custom circuit designs augment our software and firmware expertise. The software we create runs on both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and custom in-house circuit designs. PTR-DSG provides component and card level solutions to our DoD and commercial customers. Our skills include a full range of schematic design, gate array and logic design, simulation, manufacturing and quality assurance capabilities. We specialize in PowerPC and ARM based control solutions with custom sensor and actuator circuitry.
